Hello again everybody and welcome to Rick's
Page. I'm Rick. Hair Of The Dog is, and
continues to be my priority. But I have so many
other interests and projects in the works that I decided to
expand my section of Hair Of The Dog's web site.
As many of you already know, Kevin McKrell
and I sponsored a trip to Italy in 2006. The sights,
the food and the wine were unbelievable! I had such a
tremendous time there that I decided to launch my own group
tour of Italy. The trip will take place February
14-20, 2009. Details are on my new
Italy Tours page.
I've always been a huge fan of The Beatles.
My dream had always been to go to Liverpool and London, to
see where it all started. In November 2007 the dream
became a reality. I escorted a group of Fab Four
fanatics to England on my first ever Magical Mystery Tour
and we all had an unbelievable trip.
Magical Mystery
Tour 2 is planned for November 7-13, 2009. Kevin
McKrell will be your co-host and a splendid time is
guaranteed for all!
Since I was a kid, I could never see enough
movies at the local theaters. I've been reviewing
movies since 2001. Initially, they were print reviews.
My Rick's Picks movie review podcast show is now in its
second year. The show is free and there are several
links to Rick's Picks on this web site. Watch for a
Rick's Picks Movie Review Sampler CD. The CD will
contain a few music tracks as well. A spring 2008
release is planned.
Photography has been an interest of mine
for a very long time. Even though it has been mostly a
hobby, I was once the second team photographer for The
Oakland As minor league team in Colonie, NY, and I have shot
a few weddings and beauty pageants. In my travels over
the years, I've taken what I think are some pretty cool pics.
I'm currently assembling my favorite photographs, enlarging
them at a commercial lab, and having them matted and framed
using high quality materials and highly trained experts.
My goal is an exhibition in about a year. In the mean
time, I'm offering the best of these photos for sale.
These highly unique pieces are numbered and signed by me.
They're going to be strictly limited to 500 each.
Every few years since 1980, I've had to
move a box of 1/2 inch reel-to-reel tapes that I've been
storing. The box is full of Silver Chicken tapes that
I made from 1976 through 1980. Finally, I took them to
a studio and they are being transferred to digital files.
Most of the tapes were recorded live at places like Uncle
Albert's, JB Scott's, The Boulevard, Thompson's Lake Hotel,
The Hullabaloo and Plattsburgh State University. There
are probably about one hundred or so live tracks but there
are also nine tracks recorded in my home studio. A few
of the live tracks and all of the studio tracks are original
songs. I'm hoping to be able to release a Silver
Chicken CD sometime soon. Once I'm sure that enough
tracks survived and I've got a few more investors, it's a
go!
Well, that's all for now. I've gotta
get back to work. I hope to see you all soon.
Rick
