Scott Apicelli
A
graduate of Berklee College of Music, Scott spent the 1980’s &
early 90’s touring the Northeastern U.S. until landing a gig
with well known Boston band “The Candles”, where he played to
packed venues four nights per week in the Boston area.
Scott eventually left the band and relocated to New York where
he was asked to join local legends “Slipknot” and “Box of Rain”.
In the late 90’s Scott played with jazz-fusion-R&B group “Soul
Confusion” and freelanced in both the rock and jazz circuits, as
well as being an in demand recording session drummer. During
this time Scott was honing his producing and arranging skills,
while also maintaining a busy teaching schedule.
Since joining
“Hair of the Dog” in 2003, Scott has been keeping busy as a
sought after producer and session drummer, and as owner of
Blue Sky Recording &
Music Studios in Delmar, NY.
In the spring of 2011 Scott also began
performing with a new band, "Standard Clams" featuring Scott
(drums), Rob Cohen (guitar), Ed Tourge (bass) and Mike DeAngelis
(vocals). The jazz quartet focuses on old standards such as
Sinatra, Darin, and Bennett. Check it out at
