What's up? We have a lot going on. The
guys and I are currently recording a brand new CD. This is
going to be our first studio recording since 1998's "Gaelic Bark".
We have fourteen new songs, many of which are originals written by
Mike, Kevin McKrell and one by me. John, Eric and I brought in
some of our favorite traditional and contemporary tunes to fill out
the rest of the album. We'll let you know when it's finished.
I
am going to personally sponsor a "Magical Mystery Tour" of famous
Beatle landmarks and other British attractions November 10-16, 2007.
We will spend two nights in Liverpool and three in London. The
vacation includes all Beatle Tours in both cities, a night at a
London Theater, round trip air tickets from NYC, English coach
transportation and guide, hotels, breakfasts and two dinners. The
space is limited for this trip of a lifetime so I would recommend
sending your deposit in as soon as possible. Call Hammond Travel at
518-489-7280 or go to my bio page for all
of the details.
This is your last chance to buy the "Gaelic Bark"
and "Rick Bedrosian" CDs. They are now out of print and when
the last copies are gone they will be forever unavailable.

Be sure to pick up The McKrells' newest CD "Cosmic
Hayride".
As you already know, Kevin is a great songwriter and
his "A Fool For Love" and "For Emily" and Bullets' "Cosmic Hayride"
are my favorites. It was a lot of fun working with producer
Scott Petito at his famed NRS Studios. He is a real pro and
easy to work with. Scott can play just about any instrument
and always has great ideas to help shape a song in the studio.

You
should also check out the debut CD "Too Dum To Quit" by upstate New
York swamp-rockers The Rumdummies. Led by my former bandmates
Todd Nelson and Al Kash, "Too Dum To Quit" lays down a mighty groove
and features a track called "One More Fool" that was written by Todd
and me. Check them out at
www.rumdummies.com.
Bombastic singer Meatloaf recently completed his
"Hair Of The Dog Tour".
The
reason that I know this is because I received several phone calls
from out of town friends and business associates who were all
planning to go see Hair Of The Dog and Meatloaf perform at places
like Turningstone and The Valley Forge Music Fair. By the time
that my lawyer and I got involved, Mr. Loaf's tour was winding down
so we just let it go. My apologies to anyone who might have
shown up at one of his concerts thinking that Hair Of The Dog was
also performing. Their advertising was confusing to anyone
familiar with Hair Of The Dog the band. With this in mind, I
would like to announce Hair Of The Dog's upcoming "Meatloaf Tour".
During a series of upcoming shows, we will be giving away plates of
homemade meatloaf to the first 100 people through the door.
Come early and bring an appetite.
Last
call at Eamonn's.
It
was sad to see Loudonville, NY's most famous Irish pub on fire one
recent morning. Eamonn's was a frequent stop for Hair Of The
Dog. We played there hundreds of
times and the Sunday Frank Jaklitsch concerts were a family
favorite. Long time chef and great guy JC made the best fish
and chips that we've ever had anywhere, including Ireland. We
recorded our first CD at Eamonn's many years ago. With Eamonn
passing away and his pub in ruins it truly is the end of an era.
After
many years of not going to see live music, I decided to reverse the
trend in a big way. I wanted to tell you about some of the
best concerts. An old friend's three daughters are big Hilary
Duff fans so I got us all tickets. Ms. Duff is a very good
singer (no lip-syncing) with great stage presence. Her band
really kicks ass too. They did many of the songs from her
exceptional CDs "Metamorphosis" and "Hilary Duff" with a few from
her most recent album "Most Wanted".
Some other great shows that I saw include The Fab
Faux, Brian Wilson, Alejandro Escovedo,
Antigone Rising, Nanci
Griffith, Los Straitjackets (featuring Eddie Angel), The Outlaws
(featuring original members Henry Paul, Hughie Thomasson and Monte
Yoho), Trisha Yearwood, Trey Anastasio and Grace Potter and The
Nocturnals.
Potter
and her band are from Northern Vermont. They are huge in New
England but relatively unknown to the rest of the world. That
will all change soon. At only 22, Grace Potter has a big
bluesy/gospel voice that can electrify a room. She is an
accomplished organ and piano player as well. Potter (with some
help from her band) writes songs that convey a maturity well beyond
her years. Drummer Matt Burr and bassist Bryan Dondero are
rock solid and guitarist/harmonica player Scott Tournet's solos and
fills are hot and nasty. They are really friendly and nice
people too. I've seen all three Capital District shows and
can't wait until they return.

Finally
and with great sadness we say goodbye to our friend Mindy Jostyn.
Mindy, who passed away from cancer recently, was our first fiddle
player. She appeared on "Release The Hounds" and "Gaelic
Bark". Mindy played a lot of shows with us in the late 90's
too. Besides Hair Of The Dog, Mindy worked with countless
others including John Cougar Mellencamp, Bob Dylan, Jon Bon Jovi and
most recently Carly Simon. She was a great musician and a kind
and gentle human being.
Thanks again to everybody for coming to our shows
and buying our CDs and official logo clothing. Without you
there would be no Hair Of The Dog. We hope to see you all
again soon.
Much love,
Rick and the guys
