Summer Wrap-Up: First of all,
we’d like to thank everyone for turning out in such great numbers to
hear us perform this past summer. We played several new places and
met a bunch of new people along the way. At the same time, it was
great to see all you loyal “Dog Heads” popping up all over! The
festival circuit was a blast, and it was all highlighted by our
final festival of the season, Irish 2000. Things went so well, that
we have been asked to be the closing act in the Guinness Tent at
next year’s Irish 2000.
This Is A Recording:
Things
are going well in the studio as we continue the recording of our 9th
CD. Rick and Scott are doing a great job producing the CD, and we
are really pleased with what we have done so far. With any luck,
there will be a surprise guest or two on the CD as well. Stay tuned…
Dot Com: Speaking of staying
tuned, we have discovered several great Irish radio stations on the
internet, and we thought we’d share some of them with you here in
the Dog Tales. It is a great way to listen to Irish music either at
the office, or at home while you are working on the computer…

AccuRadio. AccuRadio has a bunch of great musical genres
to choose from. For Irish music, go to
www.accuradio.com/radiocelt. Once there, you’ll be able to
choose from six different Irish music options: Traditional, Male
Artists, Female Artists, Progressive, Rock, and General Irish.
If you like what you are hearing, you can click on a copy of the
CD and it will take you to web sites like Amazon, where you can
purchase the CD.

Live
365. Similar to AccuRadio, in that there are numerous
musical genres to choose from. For Irish music, go to
www.live365.com/stations/irishradio. From there you’ll have
a variety of irish music programs/stations to choose from. Music
ranges from trad to folk to contemporary. We listened to Off
Kilter during our last visit to the web site (those boys can
play!).
Radio, Radio: Lest we forget, if
you’re ever in our neck of the woods (Albany, New York), be sure to
tune in to the “Proud To Be Irish” radio program on Siena College FM
radio station 88.3 on Sundays from 12 to 3pm. Originally hosted by
the late Eamonn McGuirr, the program is now hosted by Eamonn’s wife,
Mary, and their daughter Marina. As Eamonn used to say, “this is
fine stuff!”
Traveling Man:
Just
a reminder that Rick is sponsoring a trip to London and Liverpool to
visit famous Beatles landmarks and other cool British attractions.
The trip runs from November 10-16, 2007. Call Hammond Travel at
518-489-7280 or go to Rick’s bio page for
all the details.
That’s about all for now. Try to get out and enjoy the beautiful
Fall foliage and weather (unless you live in Buffalo…they appear to
have jumped straight into Winter!). We hope to raise a pint with you
down the road!!
